The farm is the perfect retreat for anyone interested in a true mountain getaway. Guests can spend time wading in the cool mountain trout stream across the street, watching the Navajo churro sheep on the farm, or just wandering around. In the summer, escape from the heat of the lowlands with temperatures 10-20 degrees cooler than the Piedmont. In the spring enjoy the sounds and crispness of the Appalachian greening, in the fall admire the amazing leaf display and in the winter enjoy the snow and beauty of an Appalachian winter. In the winter, bring your cross country skis or snowshoes and drive up to ski on the trails at Elk Garden when it's snowing or just stay in and stay cozy. Because we have livestock on the property, no outside pets are allowed.
