The farm is the perfect retreat for anyone interested in a true mountain getaway. Guests can spend time in the jacuzzi, wading in the cool mountain trout stream across the street, sitting in front of a cozy wood fire in winter, interacting with the heirloom sheep on the farm, or just wandering around. In the summer, escape from the heat of the lowlands with temperatures 10-20 degrees cooler than the Piedmont. In the spring enjoy the sounds and crispness of the Appalachian greening, in the fall admire the amazing leaf display and spend cool nights at the farmhouse. And in the winter, bring your cross country skis or snowshoes when it's snowing or just stay in to enjoy this cozy house and the jacuzzi. There is a fully stocked kitchen, and all linens are provided. Because we have livestock on the property, no outside pets are allowed.

10 minutes from Grayson Highlands State Park and Elk Garden/Appalachian Trail access and 15 minutes from the beginning of the Virginia Creeper Trail in Whitetop, VA.

The space:
Upstairs Bedroom 1: Queen size bed with quality linens and storage for clothes and such. Bathroom access across the hall and shared with Upstairs bedroom 2.
Upstairs bedroom 2: Full size bed with best view of the farm and bathroom access in the hall, shared access with upstairs bedroom 2.
Downstairs bedroom: Full size bed with quality linens and storage for clothes. Direct bathroom access to first floor bathroom.
Enclosed front porch: Great for sitting with morning coffee on a cold day and looking out over the farm. Or it can be used as an optional fourth bedroom (twin bed).
Kitchen: High end appliances and fully stocked with all the cookware and appliances you will need for a great stay.
Living room: Cozy, comfortable gathering spot with wood stove.
Recreation room: Back room with large internet tv and video games for viewing tv or playing games.
Outdoor back patio: Lovely gathering space with tables, chairs, Solo fire pit, and jacuzzi.
Back Barn attic: Space that can be used to accommodate additional guests in tents (with prior approval).
Guest property access: Guests are free to roam the grounds as long as they stay out of fields occupied by the sheep, close all gates behind them, and stay out of the barns on the lower section of the property. Guests also have private access to a footpath on the opposite side of the road that leads to Helton Creek, where they can wade, fish (you will need a state fishing license), and ponder life.
